In Webster’s Dictionary, the word: “adversity” is defined as “a state or instance of serious or continued difficulty or misfortune”. With an unusual noon kickoff time due to weather delays and challenging field conditions, it’s safe to assume that adversity was present going into the game between Kettle Run and Skyline last Saturday. It was Skyline’s homecoming, and the change of scenery mixed with the significance of the event posed a unique challenge to the Cougars. However, after a kickoff return for a touchdown on the first play by sophomore Braylon Jenkins, all worries quickly disappeared. In the end, the Cougars blew by the Skyline Hawks with a final score of 62-0, making them 4-0 and moving them to 3rd in the state for the 3A division. All in all, while “adversity” was a word one could use to describe the game last Saturday, “dominance” would be a better choice. This week, the Cougars look to keep their undefeated season alive as they travel to Millbrook, who are currently 2-2.
