Kettle Run has an amazing club for book lovers!

The book club is a vibrant and inclusive space where students who enjoy reading can come together to discuss their favorite books.

If you’re passionate about reading and want to engage in more school activities, the book club is the perfect place for you. It’s a safe and welcoming environment where members are described as “bubbly, happy, and so excited to talk about books.” Each member is friendly and eager to inspire conversations about literature.

The club organizes read-ins at the library, where you can read for an entire block, enjoy food and drinks, and even bring a friend along. In the past, the book club has collaborated with Interact for a book drive and is looking to do the same again this year. Additionally, the club is participating in Trunk or Treat, providing excellent opportunities to engage with the community and the school. Last year, the club had the pleasure of meeting author Mindy McGinnis, making it a truly memorable experience for all members. The book club also heavily influences the recommended books in our Kettle Run Reads program.

The book club is sponsored by the librarians at Kettle Run but it is entirely student-run, as the members believe it’s better to interact with their peers rather than solely with adults.

If you’re interested in joining the book club, simply drop by the library during cougar block every Wednesday for the club’s meetings.
