Have you ever wondered if there was a place to practice your religious beliefs, without it being forced? FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) is a club for devoted Christians and athletes who want a place to hang out and have fun with friends and people who share similar interests.
FCA isn’t just a club, it is also a community, “The main goal and purpose is to bring together athletes who have religious faith and want to practice it with others in a gathering setting.” Mrs. Bagwell said. She also thought that taking the role of FCA was important because Mrs. Bagwell wanted to help the other students. Mrs. Bagwell reported, “I benefited a lot from FCA in high school, so I thought it would be right to help others do the same.”
Even though this is Mrs. Bagwell’s first year leading FCA, what inspired her to take over the club as she was once a member when she was a student. She then decided that this community was important to her, and she wanted to carry it on.
Every meet will include a game that fits the theme of the day. It will also include an important message of the day.
If you are interested in joining FCA, they meet every Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 7:15 a.m. in the auxiliary gym throughout the entire school year.
If you think you aren’t welcome, no need to! Everyone is welcome. “Anyone needing encouragement, love, and a feeling of need to be accepted.” Mrs. Bagwell even said, are especially invited.
FCA is not just a club, but a community, and it is very special to many people just like Mrs. Bagwell. And anyone is invited, you don’t even have to be an athlete, or religious for that matter. If you are just seeking a kind place to have fun, this is your club.
